Twista Recording Artist Atlantic Chicago IL
How has the game changed since you’ve been in it? Hip hop was like baseball at first, it started off pure, it was for the family, it was cool, real tight. Now it’s full of politics, corruption, drama, garbage emcees, and all type of stuff. A lot of people say hip hop is in a crisis right now, but, hip hop has basically gotten so large that, all of sudden it’s a big negative side to it. I think there’s also a lot of positives, but there’s a lot of things we need to change and just really regroup ourselves and make it simple again like when we were having a little fun and making a little money.
What was up with all the Roc-a-fella rumors being put out before? When I came out and did a show with Jay and kicked it with Dame, we just got a real positive vibe and so we instantly started talking about just doing something. Once we got into the politics of it, it started to get slower because you actually have to make the things happen on paper. It got to the point where even me and Dame and everybody decided that if it happens, it happens and it’s gonna be love and even if it don’t happen, it still gonna be affiliation, working together, everybody in the videos doing our thang! You know, it’s just luv!
Being from Chicago, do you think there is some stigma attached to the Windy City? Yeah, but I don’t know what exactly it is. We always the last to get looked at when it comes to some true, true talent. I think it was more like that early on and I think later, it was like no one was coming to look at Chicago. So if no one is coming to look that means the only way you gonna get on from the city is if you go out and get it and a lot of these artists, they doing a little more of that and at the same time, people are starting to look. So it’s picking up now, but it was a little crazy at first, a slight conspiracy or something.
Where would you go start a buzz if you couldn’t represent Chicago anymore? Indiana
Which is better, peanut butter and jelly or ham and cheeses? Peanut butter and jelly. I couldn’t say ham and cheese because I don’t eat pork!

EST | | U know I had to rep the Chi'! What's up man. I second the notion that you are one of the most underrated cats in the industry right now. I've been following your career for a while and I wish u continued success. That joint with Lil Kim is blazin! (I'm trying to learn the words but u going to damn fast!)Adrenaline Rush is still one of my all time fav cds. It still gets rotation to this day. Being that I'm from the Chi, I feel it's important to support artist coming out of this area. So it's like double with you cause not only are u from my city but you're also cold azz hell. With that said, keep it movin and don't ever stop reppin the Chi... we got luv for ya! Peace and blessings |
