Been checking Marv since the Izzy Bar days. This guy is a true lover of music. If the entire NYC experience could be distilled into a DJ set, Marv would be at the wheels...

Dear Lovely Qool Marv,
Hey wassup. I recently got turned on to you and your funky skills on the one and two. I am the leader of a really underground funk/rock/hip hop band, and I would love to meet you. The night you do at SPA is the JOINT. You have the taste, and I would love to chat, can you hit me back?

Qool DJ Marv has to be one of the best DJ's in the world, everytime he comes to Manchester he rocks the spot, that much so we are having to move him to a 1200 cappacity venue !!

Yo Qool Marv,
Saw you over at Essential Fest on Monday and felt your vibe for sure (You was probably the best dj I saw there besides Mr. Peterson! Actually missed Mr.Scruff's set becuz had to get back to London to Gilles' nite @ Bar Rumba. baaaaaad!!!) Too bad the crowd was paltry at Essential (but it was throughout the fest in general). I'm actually from NYC and wanna know where you spin at. Mos def I'll check you in the apple.

Yo Qool Marv. Just pulled out a whole lot of your old mix tapes from the mid 90's and they have me rocking, and bopping and looking like an absolute idiot as I drive my car. It's amazing what an impact your tapes ahve had in shaping my music and understanding of contemporary black music. They are jazz, soulful, allow you to rock gentle and to swing.
Keep doing what you doing.
