now as u know i moved from nyc to chi. i moved my stuff *24 boxes* thru fed ex. mostly clothing, shoes, books, files, pots pans. little furniture i could break down and put in a box.

can i tell u that out of 24 boxes - 4 eneded up damaged/undeliverable/missing (one had my licquor - them fools probably went and opened that box). the furniture that made it was scratched INSIDE THE BOX!!!! the boxes looked like they went thru a war!

out of 6 vases (that were packed properly and labeled in a box as fragile) 2 made it thru.

i had to buy new glasse and dishes.

and now i have to file 4 claims for my stuff.

they about to be got real good for this stuff. i vow to use a moving service next time i move.

Girl, hate to tell ya but when I moved I shipped 15 boxes USPS (that's United States Postal Service for the acronym unsavvy)... and the only thing that broke was one bottle of nail polish. Everything arrived within a weeks time. I also shipped 5 boxes of artwork via UPS and everything also arrived on time and in good condition. Granted, I wasn't shipping any furniture - just clothing, shoes, artwork and books. The nice lady at the Post Office even let me ship everything Book/Media rate so my entire move cost under 200 bucks.

Sounds like FedEx is suspect. unsure.gif

A couple of things that a friend of mine told who worked for FedEx...

1. If you ship something that is not in a FedEx box, they treat it like SHIT! Like they try to tear that shit up.

2. ALWAYS use a FedEx box to ship stuff FedEx...I guess they are prejudice when it comes to cardboard. laugh.gif

Sorry to hear that...but girl get on them and I hope you insured it!

Not true. You should re-read that, I'm not sure you realize how obsurd that sounds. Picture a company that literally ships hundreds of thousands of packages a day purposely damaging packages. huh.gif Then picture that same company still growing to the 30 billion dollar mark and being the darling of Wall Street. ohmy.gif Doesn't make sense right? Because these statements are just bogus, uninformed, conjecture. Sorry T.

Further, FedEx boxes are made specifically for shipping. Many times they are stronger and have been thoroughly tested unlike the second hand boxes many people ship with.

Also, FedEx has many many fewer damage claims per year than UPS. What I've found is that when it comes to shipping errors and/or damages 9 times out of 10 the trail of blame leads right back to the shipper.

But in all seriousness, sorry that this happened to you shades.
