STOP ASKING ME FOR CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP. I am not your Grandma. Go to the dang deli on the corner and get yourself some freaking chicken soup. I don’t have the wax because Beat Street is closing (DAMN–they really want me to stop using vinyl) and they haven’t got anything new, and Rock and Soul sold out of it, so please leave me be. I’ll get the CD this week and I’ll drop it this weekend, okay?

Freedom this past weekend was packed. More important, we played songs that we’ve never played in the almost 3-year history of our weekly party (that’s a lot of Fridays now that I think about it), including Lady of Rage’s “Afro Puffs,” the Commodore’s “Assembly Line,” and a bunch of others I forget right now. Regina King, the little girl from “227,” the older girl from “Poetic Justice,” the wife of Will Smith in “Enemy of the State,” Cuba Gooding Jr in “Jerry McGuire,” and maybe some other joints that I forgot, she came through and vibed all night and danced and drank and sang with all the other 350 - 500 people we brought down. And yes, they were doing the Bus Stop. Or was that the Electric Slide? Cha Cha Slide? Slide Slide Slippety Slide?

T-NY was packed again. I love the night. Good ol’ weekend jumpoff. Hit me up.

“The Descent” was pretty good, actually. Nevermind the corny billboards that rip off the “Silence of the Lambs” illusion. It was good horror flick, and I suggest you see it and start getting ready for Halloween 2006.
