The best way to get rid of some vacation cheer is to drive in Manhattan during rush hour. “Don’t honk,” you keep telling yourself. “Take it easy. Take it slow. Relax.” Then a Yellow Cab cuts you off to pick up a fair. “It’s okay. It’s okay. He’s got to make some money to feed his family. Let him go. Don’t honk. So what he almost hit me and now I’m stuck behind him, waiting for his passengers to get in. Let it go.” And now you’re off again, only to get stuck behind a Connecticut license plate going 20mph. “Don’t honk now, just be easy. Try to get around him.” You put on your blinker, but all those cabs who cut you off won’t let you in. So you wait. Then a car service town car starts blasting his horn behind, screaming out the window, “c’mon … move your ass!” and you’re like “but it’s not me. Just relax, man. P-p-lease. Stop honking.” You don’t want to lose it, but you’re about to. You gotta get outta there, so you signal and end up behind a yellow bus full of Orthodox Jews going 15mph!

The car service behind you speeds buy and flips you off and says something nasty in Spanish, and now you’re stuck behind this yellow bus, wondering who the fu*k you were kidding about taking it slow. You gotta pick up your wife at the spa cuz it’s her birthday and you can’t keep her waiting in this swealtering heat on her birthday, and you guys have a 5PM dinner reservation downtown that you have to be on time for so you can enjoy a leisurely birthday dinner AND make the Broadway show you payed out the ass for, and you can’t be checking your watch the entire time because that’s rude in fu*king general, let alone on someone’s birthday, and you’re already fu*ked up because you made the reservation way too early but you had to it’s not your fault cuz you couldn’t get a late dinner reservation because for some reason this ain’t the fu*king city that never fu*king sleeps anyfu*king more so C’MON FOR THE LOVE OF FU*KING G-D MOVE YOUR FU*KING AAAASSS HONKHONKHONK!

Big up to Dope Jams Record Shop on Myrtle in Clinton Hill for having an ILL selection of records and DVDs you can’t find anywhere else, AND for having an actualy listening station that doesn’t prevent you from listening. I can’t stand going to a record store where each table is broken and each headphone is screwed up beyond belief. Then the funny thing is I get attitude when I bring the record up to the booth and ask the DJ on duty to play it. Sorry. Just trying to, you know, buy something.
