Hey there home boys and home girls. This week’s Holler will have to hold you down for next week as well, cuz I’m GONE TO THE MOUNTAINS, MOTHERFU*KERS. That’s right. I’m off to the hills this Sunday with my honey bunny for a good 5 days of rest, relaxation, skiing and hot chocolate and s’mores by the fire place and naps on a hammock by a babbling brook and steak-and-eggs breakfasts and steak-and-taters dinners and microwaved burrito lunches and a little bit of that good ol’ jacuzzi love … … You know. A relaxing time soaking in a warm jacuzzi. What?? It’s completely innocent! I swear!

I’ll be back in time for my gigs (FREEDOM and Blvd), so don’t fret. I know lots of you look to me to help you forget your troubles, to help you dance your night away, to help you get that work out, even to help you get your spiritual stomp on cuz you know you ain’t been to chuuuuuuuch in a minute. Or synagogue for that matter. (My people get their gospel on too, you know. It’s just in Hebrew, that’s all. And the dance move is just a basic back-and-forth rocking that they call “dahvening,” but that’s it. That’s the only difference.) Anyhow, I know I have this responsibility to you, so I promise to live up to it as long as my feet allow me. I humbly accept your … dependence, and promise to provide dance floor sets as addictive as crack cocaine. Or matzoh-ball soup.

Speaking of which, now that they shut down 2nd Avenue Deli, the Jewish clinic for stuffed-cabbage addiction, there’s gonna be a lot of angry, elderly Israelites wandering the streets, causing trouble. Getting into fights with the poor, defenseless Mexicans and Armenians behind the sandwich counter at the corner deli because they don’t know what a “shmear” is!

“A shmear!! Whaddayuh … deaf??? A shmear!!! A shmear!!!”

“Sir … I no understand whaht you wahnt. You wahnt sandwich? A wrap? Choomoos?”

And do you wanna know what they’re doing with 2nd Avenue Deli? THEY’RE TURNING IT INTO A FUC*KING HOOTERS!! YES. You heard me right. A HOOTERS!!! That is near desecration. The owners of that building should be sentenced to public stoning. They should sit out front of the old deli and allow every miserable, lost, 65-and up Jewish person to throw old, stale loaves of rye bread at them. It may take a while to draw any blood, but who cares. We can just … you know … shorten the distance between them, right? Bring the old folks up a little closer to keep things moving. But really! What a sin! I mean, from an old, historic, cherished, beloved landmark full little boys and their bubbies (Yiddish for “grandma”) to a shitehole full of … little boys and BOOBIES. From world-renown chicken soup to world-renown chicken heads. From warm knish to … … okay. That’s quite enough.

Last thing I wanna do is pledge allegiance to the SEX PISTOLS. Though I’ve never listened to their music, and probably never will (at least not regularly, at least not when I can help it), I am for now on a huge fu*king fan. I’ve never even considered myself a “punk” (though my older brother might beg to differ, not to mention the CVS clerk in my home town), but God Bless the Sex Pistols, each and every one.
