Feedback
When you get the chance, I need to get some feedback from y’all. Just so I know how to to continue giving you the best events that answer all your needs, whether that’s dancing, flirting, drinking, eating, roller skating, whatever. Check out these questions, and get back to me when you can. No stress, but please help me help you.

1 - What is your favorite music to dance to?
2 - Do you prefer big places, small places, or medium-sized places to party?
3 - What time do you arrive at your destination?
4 - How late do you stay out?
5 - What kind of party would you most like to go to?
6 - How do you get to where you are going? Subway? Taxi? Your own car?
7 - What do you think is missing from the nightlife scene?
8 - What has been your favorite party to date? (Besides FREEDOM. Heh heh.)
9 - How much do you plan to spend when you go out? Be honest…
10 - What kind of crowd do you most like to party with?
11 - Do you/have you/would you ONLY party in Manhattan? If not, where else?
12 - Where do you live?

Again, this is so I can provide better FUN for you.

Thanks,

Herbert

Word To Herbert
I’m back y’all, and I’m back y’all, and I’m backety back, and I’m back y’all. Yeeaaahh bbooyy!! That’s right. I’m in the house. All is good. I’m feeling okay. Enjoying the weather for another few minutes till it changes back to ugly. I think it’s ugly again as we write. Anyways, wouldn’t you know it … my a** got sick for my mountain excursion, and my wife had to play nurse instead of … goddess, ya dig? Still, I’d be sick in the mountains any day. It’s so beautiful out there. It really is. Let me put you on to some sh*t: www.sylvaniatreefarm.com. That’s where I go. The Brookside Cottage is the sh*t, but you might also try Hermitage, too. It’s got an actual jacuzzi in the back facing the woods. Anyways, go ahead, make sure you stop in Port Jervis at the Family Dollar food store first, or go west and hit the IGA in Hawley so you can stock up on steak, marshmallows, eggs, biscuits, sausage, all that good stuff. And fellas … your better have your “A” fireplace game on. Don’t front and talk sh*t about some fake one you kept stoked. This is the real deal.

Try not to use too much newspaper, either, cheaters.

So yeah, you all know by now, Blvd Saturdays is a wrap. It was packed wall-2-wall every weeek, so it had to have been some funny business going down behind the scenes. I won’t name names or point fingers, but Herbert and the Soleil Group are working our collective toochises off to find the next spot. We really aren’t sleeping at all, actually. You need a place NOW. And we’re on it. In themeantime, Herbert’s for hire on a temporary basis, and of course, FREEDOM is freaking out-of-control every Friday. They really CAN’T expand that place fast enough. We need more room NOW!! NOW G-DDAMMIT, NOW!!

Of course, the real estate thing is moving along. Slowly, but that’s okay. That’s just a side hustle, you know? It’ll have to take a back seat to this music sh*t, this entertainment sh*t, and now … this writing sh*t! Yup. I’m going to start doing more writing. You heard me right. Write. I know I do it weekly for y’all with this Holler, but I couldn’t turn down the offer from YRB MAGAZINE to do consistent work, not-to-mention a guest column in each issue?

Oh word?? Can I … can I call it … Herbert Holler? YES! YES I CAN!

Big up to Jonathan Levine, the man over there. Stop hating on the Jew, stop gettin’ your face all twisted and mashed up, he’s in charge, you’re not, end of story. You don’t like it? The Source needs help. Tell them Herbert sent ya! GO:

Peace to all the people that ask me how I’m doing. I do greatly appreciate it, even though I may just nod or put on some half-a** smile, or just go something like “you know … it’s going.” That’s just the grind getting to me, the new day work and all. Please understand I’m thankful you’re asking, and please know that even if I don’t say “how’s yours,” I do care and do wanna know.

Love, peace, good health, and props to my wife who’s on another opera,

DJ Herbert

    yo herbert -

a lot of people check out your listings so keep up the good work. i will have to get back at you on the entire feedback thing but i do have one suggestion - the only problem i have is that when i read listings its really hard to know what type of crowd will be up in a spot. when i go out and a listing in your thing or anyone elses says “hip-hop” - man, that can mean all sorts of crowds - bottle/model crap, white bridge and tunnel, hood, mixed, white bar/fraternity crowd. so my suggestion is dont just give the type of music - let me know what type of crowd will be there. you feel me on that brother? but keep doing what you doing. peace
